The Russian Language Branch (RLB) was formed in 2013 with the intent to integrate a large scientific community into the global society of environmental science. SETAC RLB is one of several regional branches of SETAC Europe and facilitates the development and implementation of scientifically well-grounded principles to guide the use of natural resources through the vast territory of Russia and adjacent states. The main goal of the RLB is to promote scientific research that prevents and minimizes environmental pollution and other ecological damage.
The RLB holds multidisciplinary and multisector seminars, training courses and scientific conferences on a regular basis. The scope of these events includes problems of environmental risk estimation, technologies of biotesting and remediation, chemical-analytical methods and modern approaches to solving environmental challenges.
