About SETAC Europe
SETAC Europe is a geographic unit (GU) of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemistry (SETAC), established to promote and undertake activities of SETAC in Europe, Central Asia and the Middle East. SETAC Europe is incorporated in Brussels, Belgium as a not-for-profit association (VZW), registered as nr. 861.935.367.
Since its inception in 1989, SETAC Europe has been an open and democratic organization, promoting the mission of SETAC in Europe by its programs (e.g., annual meetings, periodic focus topic meetings, workshops, awards and grants), which are advanced by its membership. Within SETAC Europe, there are 4 regional branches organized to address the needs of SETAC members at the regional level.
The affairs of SETAC Europe are managed by the Executive Director under the oversight of the SETAC Europe Council. The SETAC Europe Council reports on its work to the membership annually at the General Assembly in May and periodically though articles in the SETAC Globe newsletter. The council maintains oversight over the geographic unit through regular meetings. If interested in joining a board meeting, please email the SETAC Europe Executive Director for details.
